Step 1 - Company Network Assessment
The first step to getting started with Managed IT Support Service is a Network Assessment. This is the initial meeting between United Technologies and the business owner or office manager. United Technologies wants to learn more about the business, see how the current network is set up, and listen to what challenges interrupt business due to technology. In the meeting, the team can make recommendations for managed IT support services and start putting together a proposal to send to the business owner or manager.
Step 2 - Monthy Service Agreement
After the Network Assessment, United Technologies will put together a proposal with services included in the monthly service agreement. Most service agreements are all-inclusive and include all the hours needed to proactively meet the client’s IT support needs. United Technologies believes that by including all support, businesses can more easily budget, and the network will be set up securely and proactively to create fewer issues that interrupt daily work. This agreement is not a contract but instead a monthly agreement. United Technologies wants clients to continue the service because it is meeting their needs, not because they are stuck in a multi-year contract.
Step 3 - Service Level Agreement
The monthly service agreement is guided by a Service Level Agreement (SLA). This agreement lets the client know how United Technologies will administer the service to meet business needs. All issues affect daily business, so each issue has an initial response time depending on its urgency and level of impact. **CRITICAL – Within 1 business hour:** Catastrophic inability to complete job duties. Example: Computer does not turn on or boot up properly. **HIGH – Within 2 business hours:** Loss of a major job duty. Example: Email not working, not connected to the Internet, or inability to print at all. **MEDIUM – Within 4 business hours:** There is a problem to be solved, but the customer is still functional and has other options available. Example: Desktop printer is not working, but the customer has access to departmental printers. **NORMAL – Within 8 business hours:** General request for machine setup, reformat, or other tasks that are not time-sensitive. Example: User needs help but will not be available until a few days later.
